WHAT is "Yr Hwb"?
The hub is a training community for those wanting to live being led by the Holy Spirit. We learn together, practise things like dream interpretation, give encouragement, get challenged by the gifting of others, and offer accountability for the call God has given for your life. We value living in the spirit and being grounded in truth, passion and biblical understanding. (see "Vision & Mission" for more info)
WHY?
When I read the Bible, I can't help but notice the stark contrast between the life Jesus lived and my own. However, Jesus said, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father" (John 14:12). My greatest desire is for Jesus to receive all that He paid for on the cross. I pray that through the Body of believers, He will receive glory for the transformation of lives from darkness to light, and from death to life.
As well as showing the love of the Father in practical ways, we are also to share that love in spiritual ways. Living in and understanding the spiritual realm should be as normal as living in our physical homes of bricks and mortar. It's in the spirit that we are called to worship (John 4:24) fight, (Eph 6:10) pray,(Eph 6:18) and gain revelation (as was true for the author of Hebrews and the book of Revelations).
HOW?
In John 10 we read that Jesus said His sheep would know His voice. It can be daunting, wondering if we're really recognising Jesus' voice or if it's just imagination! In our weekly time together, we practice listening and then share what we hear so that we can encourage and support each other. There's usually something that the Holy Spirit shows us that we can pray about further. We practice hearing and giving words of knowledge, wisdom and prophecy to each other. Sharing honest feedback means we grow in skill and confidence.
We may think we have little to offer Jesus, but as we lay down any pride in needing to be good at everything and bring our "loaves and fishes" as an offering, I believe God will take it, multiply it, and use it in ways we could never imagine.
WHO?
The hub is non-denominational and for both Welsh and English speakers, though not necessarily fully bilingual. We switch from one language to the other!!
If you have a willingness to learn and help others in the group grow, we'd love for you to join us. The hub isn't designed to replace your regular church community but alongside.
Ideally, this would be open to all ages as there is no baby Holy Spirit, but it will need more prayer (intercessors, help, please!). It is currently open from age 14 upwards.
WHEN?
We meet in an informal setting, usually on a Wednesday evening from 7.30-9
